ABOUT ME
Zuzanna Pieczyńska
I was born in 1994 in Gdańsk, Poland, currently I’m based in Cracow.
In 2014 I graduated from the Art High School in Gdynia with a diploma in ceramics. I studied at Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi in Istanbul as a part of Erasmus+ exchange program. In 2021 graduated from the Academy of Arts in Kraków, obtaining a degree in painting at the studio of prof. Zbigniew Bajek.
In painting I revolve around the subject of man and emotions, paying great attention to the psychological depth of the portrayed. By giving my artworks a dreamlike character I balance between realism and surrealism. Through paintings I want to revoke an emotional response in a viewer, appealing to their personal experiences.
In 2020/2021, I carried out a painting project on the subject of disappearances, in cooperation with the Itaka Foundation. With the goal of raising awareness of particular cases and overall problem, the project focused not only on the disappearances of certain people, but also on trauma and difficult emotions accompanying the loved ones of a missing person.
